Welcome to Tadaima-Tomita.org

Posted on 12th Feb 2008

Welcome to Tadaima-Tomita.org, the family journal site of the Tomita family. We are a young family of three; Masa, Lydia and our son Mini-T, based in the south of the UK. Towards the end of 2007, we felt we should journal the faith walk we have been on and share it on a website. What prompted us to do this was simply an incredible journey our Heavenly Father has been taking us on, and these are our testimonies of his abundant love for us.

Jesus said "… I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly." (John 10:10 - ASV*). Our Heavenly Father loves us so much that he sent his son Jesus as a sacrifice for our sins. Because of this sacrifice on the cross, "… to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God - children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband`s will, but born of God." (John 1:12-13 - NIV**). What father wouldn`t want to give his children abundant life? 2007 in many ways was a challenging year for the Tomita family, but we can truly say that our Heavenly Father gave us abundant life.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We hope you will be encouraged by our testimonies, which will gradually be posted on this website over the coming months.

With Love & Blessings

Masa, Lydia & Mini-T

NEW Who?

Posted on 13th Aug 2008

In many ways we should have introduced ourselves when we first launched this site back in Feb'08... Well, we have finally managed to add a section to introduce who we are at the bottom of the home page.

They may not sound like conventional 'profile' type paragraphs but just a little bit about each of us. We hope you enjoy it...

NEW Journal by Lydia

Posted on 1st Aug 2008

We finally have our first journal entry posted on this website! The first entry is on our recent big day out in London for the medical examination which is a part of the US visa application process we are currently going through (just in case you are wondering, yes we are still hoping to move to the States!).

Over the coming months, Lydia will be sharing our experiences of key events in our life's journey through this journal. Please click on the 'Journal' button from the above navigation to read Lydia's entries.

NEW 'Write the Vision...'

Posted on 22nd Jun 2008

Since the launch of this website we've been wanting to share our life's vision with our readers, and we have finally managed to do this 4 months after the initial launch.

We received this vision back in 2006, and although we still have not seen this come to pass, we are continuing our journey with hope - trusting that God will take us to the destination according to His plan & timing.

Past News Site Re-Launch

Posted on 20th Apr 2008

Since the initial launch of Tadaima-Tomita.org back in February, Masa has been given some project opportunities. This meant that we haven't been able to update the site for over 2 months. Well, now that we have some time to work on the site again we thought we'll give it a face lift too! We are also pleased to be able to launch the portfolio site of Simple Glaze - a collection of watercolour works by Mari Tomita (Masa's mother).

Masa

Son / Husband / Father

I used to think one of the interesting things about me was that I was born & have lived abroad much longer than in my own country. Well that's still a bit interesting... but what means more to me now is the fact that God planned for me to be born to Christian parents who are the 1st generation believers in the history of the Tomita family. Why is this significant? When only less than 1% of my country's population is Christian, the chance of being born to believing parents is pretty remote! As the 2nd generation along with my wife Lydia, our role is to pass this baton of faith to our son with a hope that it will be passed down to all generations to come.

A few years ago I had turned my back against God for a short period of time, and it was through my wife's persistent prayers I was brought back to Him. My prayer now is that no members of the Tomita family from this generation onwards will ever walk away from the one true living God.

Lydia

Daughter / Wife / Mother

When I was growing up in the North of England I imagined that my life would follow a fairly 'normal' pattern; I would find a job, meet someone, get married, buy a house, have children, build an extension, live in the same place for most of my life, and generally be very 'settled'. It still astonishes me that God brought Masa & I together from opposite sides of the world, and is now calling us to move to the United States. It is a life filled with adventure and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Since I met God in a powerful way at university (where I also met Masa!) the years that followed have been years of challenge, change, growth, excitement and so much more! He has guided & cared for me in every step I have taken, from my work as a piano teacher to my new role as a mother. I am so excited about what God has in store for this family, and privileged to be called His child.

Son

What amazes me about having a son is how often God speaks to us through this little person! When our son first learnt to stand up by himself in his cot, he used to bob up & down by holding onto the rail of the cot with a huge smile on his face. The greatest part was when Lydia or I walked into the room, his smile would get bigger and the bobbing higher! Occasions like this really filled me with so much love & joy, and it was at one of those moments God showed me something that has been life changing - the love I experience for my son is what God experiences for me, and the joy I experience with my son's smile is what God experiences when I respond to His presence with joy.

When Lydia & I first got married, I wasn't too thrilled with the idea of having any children. Now that I am a father, I can truly say that our lives are so much richer with our son taking his place in this family.
