Portfolio of Masa Tomita : Designer

Welcome to the Portfolio site of Masa Tomita. I am a UK based registered sole trader specializing in business presentation, graphics & website designs. In Dec 2006, having worked in a planning role at Panasonic UK Ltd. for 6 years, I felt it was time to take a step of faith to prepare for our plan to move to my birth country, the USA, where we are hoping to prepare ourselves for our life's vision.
I have been registered as a sole trader since Feb 2007, and will continue to work as a designer as we wait for US immigrant visas to be granted for my wife & son. Since the registration, I have worked on various design projects for clients such as IRV Solutions, L2X Jewellery, Morning Star Christian Fellowship (MSCF), Light to the Nations Ministries (LTTNM), Bright Cloud Consulting and Panasonic UK Ltd.

Administrative & Translation Services

The great thing about being a sole trader is that I can be creative in the way I offer services to my clients. Here are two areas in which I can offer my skills alongside the creative side of my business; Administrative & Translation services.
I have 6 years experience in providing various administrative support to the top management, marketing and sales teams at Panasonic, especially in the areas of management report productions, managing director's office support, market data analysis, business planning and PSI forecast process support. Many of these areas involved sales & market data extraction (via data mining tools, such as Cognos / Gfk QuickView), analysis & logical classification of data, and presentation of data in the forms of management reports & business presentations.
I am also a Japanese-English bilingual in both communicative & written forms. I have some experience in business document (presentations / letters) translation, working as an interpreter / personal assistant, and bilingual market research.
Since I have started working as a sole trader, I have worked for companies such as IRV Solutions, Medinrun Ltd. and Panasonic UK Ltd. in the administrative & translation capacities, along with my creative services to them.

Creative Inspiration

'Where do you get your inspirations from?' is probably one of the biggest questions most artists & designers face on a day to day basis. I personally believe the answer is written in Genesis 1:1 of the Bible;
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth".
As someone who never had any formal training in the areas of art & design, I am totally at the grace of God to do what I do. Before I start working on any projects, I simply ask Him to impart all the inspirations & skills I need to do a good job, as I believe He is the original designer & creator. This doesn't mean that I have an easy ride following on from some kind of 'struck by lightning' type spiritual experiences. I still have to play my part by putting my 100% into the work in the ways of time & effort, but as I do He gradually guides me through the work until it is completed.
