Business Presentation Design

As far as PC based graphic design is concerned, this is where I started. Even though I have always been a creative person, I had never considered myself as a 'Digital' person. So up until 2001 all my creative work was done in 'Analogue' ways.

Upon joining Panasonic I inherited a role as a planning co-ordinator from a colleague who excelled in many IT disciplines. Although his role was nothing to do with graphic design, his personal interests in presenting data / information in aesthetically pleasing ways led him to take ordinary PowerPoint based business presentations to a whole new level. Over the next few months, he taught me the basic usage of the graphics software Corel Draw to produce slide background images to enhance the way the contents are presented professionally. Since then I have done my share of trial & error to produce works of higher quality.

Panasonic HD Live @ Abbey Road Studio

A week before this product launch event held at London's famous Abbey Road Studio, the marketing manager who was organising the event contacted me with a task to design a standard template for the PowerPoint presentation to be presented at this event. 65 slides in total were migrated into the finalised template, and the one published here was used as a title slide for the presentation.

Camcorder Merchandising Meeting

2005/06 Lumix Autumn Activities

Autumn is my favourite time of the year; for me there's nothing like foliage that portrays the wonder of God's creation. Inevitably when someone asks for presentation templates they will certainly contain some foliage theme during this season. This one was designed for the product marketing manager of digital still cameras for the autumn activity presentation of Lumix range.

The MD often said to me "Masa, I am not sure what kind of design I want for my presentation, but I know when I don't like it" So, it took me some time to convince him that black based slide design could work well for this Annual Kick-Off Meeting.

Divisional General Sales Meetings

One of my duties as a Planning Co-ordinator was to organise a monthly divisional sales meeting for PCUK, and preparation of presentation was a part of this duty. I must have prepared at least 170 presentations and designed about 24 templates just for General Sales Meetings during my time with the company, but this one was my favourite. I actually designed a similar template for the MD for his presentation at one of the European Management Conferences earlier in the year, but I really liked it so I adopted it for the monthly meetings.

Workio - Driving Your Business

This presentation template was designed for a product launch conference of multi-functional document system series Workio. The title of the conference 'Driving Your Business' was tied in with the image of a Toyota F1 driver in conjunction with Panasonic's sponsorship of the Toyota racing team.

2002/03 Mid-Year Review Meeting

This was the first presentation where I started using vector line drawings of products instead of photographs. Admittedly it took longer to produce the vector drawings than to use the photos provided, but I thought it gave a different touch to the slides.

My very first work on the company's Annual Kick-Off meeting. I can't believe the Managing Director gave me another chance after my embarrassing work on the 2001/02 Mid-Year Review meeting (my first total company level presentation work).

This is one of my earliest presentations I worked on at Panasonic. It was prepared for a marketing manager of Plasma & LCD products, presenting the new product line-ups and technology to the buyers of key customers in preparation for the business year 2002 / 2003. If I remember rightly, I think I ended up working on the Range Review Meeting presentations for the whole TV product group for the next 3 years after this... well, it turned out to be a good practice for me.
